Getting a Fishing License

They say there are three must-do things when you come to California: fishing, shooting, and camping. Since BIG wants me to learn how to protect myself when he’s not by my side. I’ve learned how to shoot last year. (I will share more funny things to you next time when we go shot in the desert.) In today’s share, I would like to tell you this never happen in Taiwan regulations to you.

Yes, as the title you might already know what I’m going to talk about: you need a fishing license to go fishing! That’s so unbelievable when BIG first mentioned to me cause we don’t need the license in Taiwan. But later after I searched online and learned something new, I realized that it’s fair to get the license. One of the most important items any angler needs before they go fishing is their fishing license. Each state has their own regulations and offers daily, short-term, annual or lifetime licenses.

Why buy a fishing license?

  • Fishing licenses can be easily purchased online.

  • Low price licenses – Some states offers free or reduced-fee sport fishing licenses.
  • There are many places to use your fishing license including freshwater reservoirs, public fishing lakes, rivers, and streams.

  • You are contributing to state conservation programs including fisheries management, habitat protection and fishing education.
  • You are protecting, preserving and enhancing the sport of fishing today and for generations to come.

BIG likes fishing since he’s a kid, but we two are just beginners, we are still learning to get fishes every time when we go fishing. Here’s the app we use for uploading fishing photos.

If you live in California, you can buy your fishing license online here, or just get one at Walmart. (BIG got his license at Walmart and he bought mine online.) Remember to take your ID with you.
